Safety and Security in Bangalore

Some of you asked about safety while in Bangalore.  I never felt unsafe during the trip.  In fact, security is more prevalent than in the USA in many respects.  To get into the hotel parking lot, all cars have to pass a security checkpoint.  That includes guards looking under the hood, checking under the hood, and often a dog sniffing around the outside of the car.

The shopping mall next door also had security guards searching cars.

I didn't get any pictures of it, but you also had to walk through a metal detector to get into the hotel or any of the shopping malls I visited during my trip.  They also search your purse or bag you might bring into the mall.  Some do a visual search.  Others had scanners for bags like at our airports.
